Great photos of Bob Hope and the other entertainers of his Christmas USO shows.
I was fortunate enough to be a combat writer and photographer for the 101st. Airborne Div. an sat on the corner of the stage during his 1970 Christmas show at Camp Eagle. Supposedly there are videos from this show that actually show me during the show that I would like to find. My father and his friend were having a drink at our local Moose Lodge in 1971, a few months after the show when his friend pointed to the tv and asked my Dad if he recognized anyone. Dad looked up and there I was in my 15 seconds of fame…..lol. He said that was the best Christmas present (even though late) he ever had. Would love to find this video.

Thanks for the placing these photos on your website. I saw this show on board the USS John F. Kennedy on December 18 or 19th, 1970 in Seuda Bay, Crete. I was a crewmember of the USS Nitro AE-23 at the time. Great memories. God bless Bob Hope. Thanks again.

My buddy and I were on front row in Longbing 1971. A clip showing us was used in Forrest Gump (playing in background on a tv when Forrest and captain Dan were in hotel room on New Years Eve). It really freaked me out when I saw the movie for the first time….

    Thanks for the memories
