I was unable to make the reunion. Info on the site should read Sp4 and dates in Country were January 69 to April 70.
I read that Sgt Ballard had passed in 77. It stated he was born in 1930. I believe he was in his 60s in 69. He wanted to retire but the Army wouldn’t let him at the time. He came stateside and returned sometime lat in 69. Real good guy. Never thought I would miss Viet Nam but I do.

I and a fellow member of the 608th John “Jay” Cain have just found out about the reunions. Guess we both started searching at the same time and ended up running into each othr on the 14th. Transportation webpage. I have the contact imformation for Jay if anyone remembers either of us. One nickname stay’s in my head BEAR he was shipped up north just before I left.

Hopefully we will be there for the next one. If there are any 608TH. members still around on here please feel free to drop a line. I was there Jan-69/Jan-70. If you were there for Thanksgiving of 69 and remember the hooch maid run and what was brought back from the vill please give me a holler, hell even if you don’t and were in the 608th then give a holler.

Oh yeah as I was the only person there in 69 qualified on the OH-23 they found about 3, I think just before I left and stuck me on them. Does anyone know if any ever flew again? I had a couple actually running before I left but having trouble with the dang fan blade cleareance.
